Some patients do not fit neatly into a category. Those are the cases she takes most seriously.
Some patients experience multiple symptoms across multiple systems at once: fatigue, pain, mood shifts, immune changes and hormonal instability, in combinations that do not map to a single diagnosis.
These cases require time, investigation and integration. They are also where a specialist-by-specialist approach breaks down, because each specialist sees one system and nobody is looking at the interaction.
Dr. Goldstein approaches complex cases with a detective mindset, reviewing patterns, laboratory data, health history and system interactions to uncover the deeper drivers of imbalance.
When symptoms started, what changed around that time, and what the sequence was. The timeline is often where the answer lives.
Prior labs reviewed through a functional lens. Results called normal frequently contain useful patterns.
Additional testing selected by hypothesis rather than run as a fixed panel.
How the thyroid, adrenals, hormones, gut, immune system and inflammation are affecting one another in your specific case.
Infection, environmental exposure and toxic load, the drivers most often missed in long-standing cases.
Deciding what has to be addressed first. In complex cases, order matters as much as content.
Each specialist sees one system and nobody is looking at the interaction.
Ten years of daily pain and every specialist tried. Two years of testing with no answer. These are the cases that arrive here last.

“I’ve had fibromyalgia, pain and migraines every single day for over 10 years. This was my last option. I’d been to every gastroenterologist, rheumatologist, primary care doctor, even doctors in other countries. The pain in my body has gone away.”

“I came to Dr. Goldstein after suffering from an eye condition that western medicine could not identify or treat. I went to numerous ophthalmologists, was sent to UCI, and had an eye biopsy. Allergy testing, the works. No results after nearly two years. I went to Dr. Goldstein and very quickly she determined I had a deficiency in vitamin B12 and D. She treated me and within a week, my symptoms disappeared and I have been well for three months now. I am forever indebted to Dr. Goldstein and will recommend her to anyone with an undiagnosed or diagnosed problem for treatment and final remedy. I would give her more than five stars if I could. She was the light at the end of my tunnel.”

These are real patients sharing their own experiences, published with their permission. Individual results vary depending on your condition, your history and how long it has been present. Nothing here is a promise of a particular outcome, and this page is educational rather than medical advice.
Complex cases do not resolve in a fifteen-minute visit, and they do not resolve by treating each symptom separately. Care here is structured over time with unhurried consultations, deliberate sequencing and measured follow-up.
Advanced therapeutic modalities are integrated when clinically appropriate. They are selected for the case, never offered as a menu.
Most workups are organized by specialty. This one is organized around the interaction between systems, with enough consultation time to actually reconstruct the history.
Complex cases are a significant part of this practice. Whether care is a fit is determined through the evaluation process.
Long-standing illness takes time to unwind. Care is structured so progress can be measured rather than guessed at, and the plan is adjusted as you respond.
Not every case yields a single answer. What the process reliably produces is a clearer map of what is contributing and a plan aimed at function rather than labels.
