Watch the Master Class
The evaluation is the practice. It is the part that cannot be found locally, and the part that works the same by secure video anywhere in California.
Most people searching for a naturopathic doctor outside a major metro are not short of practitioners. They are short of one who will order the right testing, interpret it functionally rather than against a disease threshold, and sequence the work in an order that holds. That is a thinking problem, and a thinking problem does not require you to be in the room.
Dr. Goldstein sees patients in person at The Natural Path in San Juan Capistrano and by secure telemedicine for patients located anywhere in California. Whether in office or online, the same process applies: comprehensive intake, functional laboratory analysis, an individualized plan and structured follow-up. Blood draws are arranged near you and specialty test kits are shipped to your home.
Patients work with her from Los Angeles, San Diego, the Bay Area, Sacramento, the Inland Empire and the Central Coast, as well as from across Orange County. The in-office therapies are the one thing that requires a visit, and they belong to a later stage of care than most new patients are in.
If a normal lab result can still explain your symptoms, the thing you are missing locally is the interpretation. See how she reads a lab result →
The evaluation decides the case. Everything that decides the case can be done by video.
A Tool Inside the System
Care here runs in four stages. Evaluation, interpretation and planning are the first three, they are where the direction of a case is decided, and none of them require you to be present. That is the honest reason distance costs you so little here.
The in-office therapies sit in the later stages, and they are selected from what testing showed rather than booked in advance. Most patients spend their first months on foundation work that is entirely remote.
When a therapy is indicated, many patients combine remote management with occasional trips to San Juan Capistrano. The plan tells you whether that applies to you before you book anything.
The Same Eight Systems, Wherever You Are
The evaluation reads all eight of these against each other. Nothing in that process depends on physical proximity, which is why a remote case is not a reduced one.
Before Your First Visit

Every new patient starts here, in the room or three hundred miles away. Dr. Goldstein explains why standard labs measure disease rather than function, the three systems that fail together in almost every chronic case, and why treating them one at a time has not held. It is the fastest way to find out whether this approach fits your case.
Watch the Master Class →It works best for the cases that are mostly a reading problem: fatigue, thyroid and hormone presentations, digestive complaints, metabolic resistance and complex chronic illness where the testing has been done badly or interpreted against the wrong standard. Those are decided at the desk, not on the table.
It works less well if the reason you are looking is a specific in-office therapy. In that case the therapy still has to be earned by an evaluation, and the evaluation can start by video, but plan on travelling to San Juan Capistrano when it is indicated.
A long first visit covering the whole history, not a fifteen-minute problem list. This is the visit that decides what gets tested, and it is identical in office or online.
Blood work is ordered to a draw station near you. Specialty kits for stool, urine or saliva ship to your home and go back by prepaid mail. Prior labs are re-read as part of the record.
Every marker is walked through against the others rather than emailed as a PDF. This is where a result inside the normal range gets explained instead of dismissed.
Supplements, prescriptions where clinically appropriate, and scheduled reviews that adjust the plan against repeat testing rather than against how you feel that week.
You have to be located in California at the time of the visit. Licensing requires it. Where you live the rest of the time is not the question.
The intake, the testing and the interpretation are identical. What differs is access to the in-office therapies, and those are selected later in a plan rather than at the start.
Blood draws are ordered to a lab near you. Specialty kits for stool, urine or saliva are shipped to your home and returned by mail. Labs you already have are re-read as part of the record.
She is a licensed California naturopathic doctor with prescriptive authority, so prescriptions can be sent to a pharmacy near you when they are clinically appropriate.
The plan says so, and says why. Many patients manage remotely and travel to San Juan Capistrano for the therapy itself, then return to remote follow-up.
Complex cases are where the reading matters most, which is the part that travels. The main difference remains access to the in-office therapies.
The free Master Class is the first step for every new patient in this practice, in the room or three hundred miles away. It explains how the evaluation works and why the three systems underneath have to be read together.
